In 1975, the Ellis family made its way from the East Coast of the United States to Jerusalem, Israel. Russ and Anita Ellis made aliyah, deciding that Israel was the place for them and more specifically the historic, beautiful and enigmatic city of Jerusalem.

As a part-time volunteer museum guide, Anita quickly achieved
the reputation of "the source of all Jerusalem knowledge" among her
relatives, friends and "friends of friends". When someone needed
a place to stay or rent, Anita was who they called. Finally, in 1991, Anita suspected that there was a market for helping a greater number of people from around the world to find a great place to say in Jerusalem, and a company now called Jerusalem Lodges was born. |
